The Knoxville School Board approved a proposal for a new district auditor at their meeting Monday night.

The board received one bid for this project which came from Nolte, Cornman and Johnson PC  for a three year contract which will be $13,000 for Fiscal Year 2024, $15,000 for FY2025, and $17,000 for FY2026. KCSD Business Manager Craig Mobley spoke at Monday’s school board meeting saying less and less firms are doing these audits which is why he feels they only received one bid.

“It is for our annual audit, but it is a process where we typically do it every three years. We make a three year agreement with the auditor. The past several times that I’ve done this while I’ve done this we have sent out a request for an RVP to three different places and have only got one response.”

Mobley also said this year’s audit will most likely take place in October.
