Many students in the Newton School District will benefit from a grant given by a large employer in Pella. Newton Superintendent Tom Messenger says Vermeer Corporation awarded the district a $1,000 grant.

“It will be used to support various departments including sports, theater, music, robotics,journalism,  prom, and other activities.”

According to Messenger, the District will report back to Vermeer on how the money was used.
