Newton residents who have a valid Newton Public Library Card have free access to some Des Moines area attractions. Phyllis Peter, Youth Librarian at the Newton Public Library, says access is through the Adventure Pass Program.

“What you do with your adult Newton Public Library card is make a reservation to visit the Science Center of Iowa,  the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Blank Park Zoo, and the Des Moines Children’s Museum at Valley West Mall. You can visit each of these venues once per year with your card. It gets you free admission for two adults and two children.”
