Helping Hands Food Pantry in Knoxville is moving forward with helping the community to carry on the legacy of their former Director Chuck Galeazzi.
The food pantry that serves anyone in Marion County will continue normal operations, while making some changes moving forward after their longtime director Chuck Galeazzi passed away recently. Galeazzi dedicated his life to helping those less fortunate in Marion County through Helping Hands, and the pantry board wants to continue that tradition. Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch says Chuck gave his heart to the people of Knoxville.
“I often talk about our people in the community being the greatest part of Knoxville. They’re a generous, caring, passionate group of people and I think that describes Chuck. He was just the perfect example of Knoxville people. He had a huge heart and he would give that to everyone. He had an open heart. It is hard to turn a corner in the community of Knoxville and find a person who doesn’t know Chuck, or hasn’t been helped by Chuck in some way. It’s a huge legacy and we so appreciate everything he has done not just for Helping Hands, but the community.”
Helping Hands is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Hear from Helping Hands volunteers on a special Chuck Galeazzi tribute edition of today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
