The #6 in class 5A Indianola volleyball team defeated Pella Christian to open Little Hawkeye Conference play Tuesday on the road 3-0. The Indians took the first set after a tough fight from the Eagles 25-17, then settled in to win the second set 25-14. Pella Christian did not go away quietly however as Indianola won 25-21 in a hard fought final set to earn the sweep. Indianola has now won 10 in a row to stand at 10-1, and will host Norwalk at home on Tuesday.

The Indianola girls cross country team won the Dallas Center-Grimes Invitational in their season opening meet on Tuesday, while the boys would finish in 10th.

The girls were led by a stellar top 11 finish for the top five runners led by a 2nd place finish from Jordyn Brown, with Paige Hoger in 6th, Taylor Hoger and Michaela Appel in 8th and 9th, and Lilly Hoger in 11th. The boys were led by a 38th place finish from Sam Larson, 39th from Sam Nochvay, and a 44th place finish from Isaac Johnson. Both teams next run on Saturday at Urbandale.

The Indianola girls swimming team defeated Perry in their home opener Tuesday 83-64. Indianola saw first place finishes from the 200 Freestyle Relay, Kelsey Haltom in the 100 Backstroke, and Serenity Turner in the 100 Breaststroke. Find full results below.
