Several resolutions were on the agenda relating to upcoming projects for the Pella City Council at their meeting on Tuesday.
Items approved by the council included:
- An engineering services agreements with Garden and Associates for the Hazel Street Sidewalk project and for the airport access road
- Accepting public improvements for Dingeman Industrial Park
- Opening bids for phase three of improvements to Kiwanis Park and set a public hearing on October 1st to receive those bids
- Transferring surplus funds from the electric utility to pay for future improvements to the Pella Community Center and potential construction of a new rec center
- Amending contract language related to the Epcon Residential Urban Renewal Plan
A public hearing was also held for a development agreement with Courtyards Land Holding, LLC, which was also approved.
During the weekly policy and planning work session, council discussed a request from the Friends of the Pella Community Center to make repairs to the heritage gym, an economic development request from Red Rock Chiropractic, a review of stormwater issues in the city, and proposed rates for the new Pella Ambulance School of EMS classes. No formal action was taken during the session.
