Melcher-Dallas Football Hoping To Sustain Momentum Against Belle Plaine
After a dominating win last week over Mormon Trail, the Melcher-Dallas Football Squad will take some much needed momentum into its district opener tonight against one of the favorites to win 8 man District seven. Belle Plaine has scored 46 points in both of its games with wins over HLV and Clarksville. The Plainsmen’s running game is the focus for the Saints and Coach Jason Mason.
Mason: “It’s going to be constant blow after constant blow. They have a really good running back at Belle Plaine, he’s a very tough downhill runner and we’re going to have to rally to him and bring him down quick and fast.”
That running back is Ty Alcott, who has 312 yards rushing on the season so far. The Saints are one of the more balanced teams in 8 man passing for 289 yards and rushing for 273. Mason adds that will need to be a huge focus as well if his team is to have a shot at knocking off Belle Plaine. Kick off from Melcher-Dallas is at 7:00.
