The PCM volleyball team defeated Des Moines North in straight sets Thursday night.

The Mustangs were dominant from start to finish over the Polar Bears winning set one 25-10, set two 25-6, and set three 25-8. Senior Rebecca DeVries led the team with seven kills while Lillian Humpal had six, and Tori Lindsay led the team with 22 assists. Addison Steenhoek and Humpal both had strong nights at the service line picking up five aces a piece. Coach Sarah DeVries says her team has done a good job adjusting to a new lineup so far this season.

“We’ve got some new players in there. I think the veterans players Rebecca, Addy, and Tori are really helping the younger ones come in and feel at home. Things have been working really well in practices. We are just working on our setter clicking with every hitter, knowing what they want and I think it’s going well.”

After Thursday’s win, the Mustangs improve to 5-2 overall and will be back in action on Monday at West Marshall.
