Braylon Bingham’s five touchdown passes powered the Pleasantville football team over Woodward-Granger Friday night.
Bingham spread the wealth with his TD passes throwing them to several different receivers and he ran a touchdown in as well as the Trojans defeated the Hawks 42-30 to pick up their first win of the season. Coach Mack Jorth said his team succeeded with the big plays Friday night in a back and forth contest and his defense stepped up when they needed them the most. Jorth said it was a hard fought win by his team.
“Our guys just battled their butts off. They played like a bunch of warriors tonight. It was a tough fought game. Woodward is a very good football team, a very physical football team. We had a lot of trouble moving the ball on the ground so we had to find other ways to make it happen and big plays was kind of the name of the game for us on offense. It was back and forth the whole game and in the fourth quarter our defense did a good job stopping them a couple times and big turnovers. We were able to get a couple on the board and pull away late. It was quite a game.”
The Trojans improve to 1-1 on the season and will face Lynnville-Sully next week on the road in their last non-district game.
