Repairs will be made next spring on a small portion of Jasper County Highway T-22 South. According to Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch, trailers being pulled by vehicles have been bottoming out just south of the Interstate 80 Kellogg exit.
“There was a box culvert replaced about .20 miles north of South 44th Avenue East. The pavement patch put over the box culvert has settled and we have problems with a dip there. It never settled well enough before they put the pavement down.”
This week the County Board of Supervisors approved the final plans for the repairs. Frietsch expects the project to cost between $150,000 to $200,000. He adds local money will pay for the repair.
