The Knoxville Police Department has released a statement regarding a threat to an incorrect Marion County school.
According to a release by the department, at 8:10 am this morning the Knoxville Police Department was made aware of a threat to “Marion County High School” via social media. Marion County High school does not exist in Marion County, Iowa. It was discovered by the Knoxville Police Department that threats were made to Marion County High School in Lebanon, KY within the last two days.
Lebanon (KY) Police Department was contacted and it was learned that the photos and messages regarding the threats made to Marion County High School; the same ones received by the Knoxville Police Department, are the same threats investigated by the Lebanon Police Department in Kentucky.
Knoxville Police Department says they will continue to investigate the incident, but they do not believe there is any credible threat of violence against any school in the Knoxville Community School District.
