The Marion County Democrats will hold their annual picnic and pie auction on Sunday. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy a meal with vegetarian options, hear from candidates in the Democratic party, and to bid on pies and other items to benefit the county party. Special guests for the event will include author of “Deep Midwest: Politics and Culture” Bob Leonard and water quality expert and author of “Swine Republic” Chris Jones. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The event will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm on Sunday at Lake Red Rock’s North Overlook shelter.
