The #5 in class 5A Indianola volleyball team swept rival #8 in class 4A Norwalk 3-0 in a Little Hawkeye Conference rivalry matchup Tuesday evening at Indianola High School.
The Indians used long runs at the end of sets to close out the first two, leading just 12-11 in the first before closing it out on a 13-4 run to win 25-14, then had a similar run in the second with the score tied at 10, going on a 15-4 run to win the second set 25-14. Norwalk would keep the third set close, with Indianola jumping out to a 13-5 lead before the Warriors mounted a comeback to keep it close, but Indianola was too far out in front and won the third set 25-20.
Indianola is now 11-1 overall and 2-0 in Little Hawkeye Conference play, and on an 11-game winning streak. They will next play in a tournament at Southeast Polk on Saturday.
Norwalk falls to 11-6 and 1-1 in conference, and will wait until next Tuesday to host Newton.
