Jasper County Auditor Jenna Jennings is alerting the public to a new scam involving voter registration.

“People are calling and representing themselves as from a political party. They say you have to pay anywhere from $10 to $200 to restore your voting rights. It’s free to be a registered voter. Please don’t pay anything. That is a scam.”

Jennings says her office has heard from residents about the scam and she wants anyone who gets a phone call like this to call her office, or if they have any questions (641) 792-7016. The Jasper County Auditor’s Office also has a Facebook page and website www.jasperia.org/auditor.
