Volleyball Sweeps Davis County

The class 4A #10 Knoxville Volleyball Squad took down Davis County in three sets on Tuesday 25-20, 25-8, and 25-16. The Panthers held control for the entire match and never let the Mustangs get any kind of momentum. Coach Mollie Keitges liked the balanced offense with Rylyn McCarty getting seven kills, Hannah Dunkin and Siena Scott with six kills each and Payton Horn with six. Setter Addy Dunkin had 21 assists while Abbie Keitges had 14 digs, and Addi Williams was 15/16 serving with four aces. The Panthers are now 7-3 on the season and 2-0 in the conference with a potential showdown with class 2A #2 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for 1st place in the South Central Conference next Tuesday.

Rankin Wins Again, Helps Panthers To A 2nd Place Finish At Grinnell

Isaac Rankin just keeps on winning cross country meets. The class 3A #13 ranked runner according to the Iowa Cross Country and Track Coaches Association poll led #18 Knoxville Boys to a runner-up finish at Grinnell on Tuesday. Rankin’s winning time of 16:33 was over :30 ahead of the runner-up. Connor Schultz was the other Panther in the top ten with an 8th place in 17:54. The girls did not have enough runners to score, but were led once again by Nicole Schultz in 31st with a time of 25:05. The Panthers are off until next Tuesday when they head to Oskaloosa.
