The Melcher-Dallas Volleyball Squad fell to Seymour on Tuesday night in four sets. The Saints lost set one 26-24 but came back to win set two 27-25 after being down by as many as eight points. However, Melcher-Dallas could not keep momentum on its side and dropped sets three and four 25-7 and 25-15. Gabby Overgaard and Ashlyn Metz both led with nine kills while Kianna Jackson had 22 digs and Haylie Hendrickson had 14, and Jalyssa Juline led in serving going 12/13 with one ace. Senior player Hayden Branson told KNIA Sports while it is not the start she or any of her teammates were looking for, there is improvement.

Branson: “I feel like one of our main goals is see how much we improve from last year. It was a rough season last year and I feel like we’re already improving so that’s good to see.”

The Saints hit the road Thursday to Moulton-Udell. The Saints Cross Country Runners were at Central Decatur on Tuesday. Neither boys or girls had enough to score but Alice Lamb finished 36th with a time of 29:45 while Amber Addington was 38th in 30:26. For the boys Austin Remster placed 42nd in a time of 23:43 and Dane Sorensen was 55th in a time of 27:46. Coach Amy Stuart told KNIA Sports they all are still learning and continuing to improve.
