The Newton Fire Department will host its annual 9/11 Memorial Service tonight. It is open to the public and begins at 5:30 PM at the Fire Station on West 4th Street South. Light refreshments will be served after the service honoring those affected by the tragedy. This is the 23rd anniversary of that solemn day. Jim Cleere of Newton died in the terrorist attack. He was in New York City on a business trip and staying at the Marriott Hotel, which was located right between the Twin Towers.
