The Norwalk boys golfers placed second and Indianola was third at Tuesday’s 11-team Ottumwa Invitational at the Ottumwa Golf and Social Club. Dallas Center-Grimes won the tournament with a score of 296, followed by the Warriors (302) and Indians (311).
Norwalk senior Grady Sigrist tied for second place in the medalist standings with a round of 72, trailing Noah Moberg of DC-G by one stroke. Additional Warrior scores included Ian Lux with a 76, Tillman Papcun 77, Dayton Poen 77, Mason Johnson 78 and Kaleb Foltz 80.
Tyler Santi paced Indianola with a fifth-place round of 75. Also breaking 80 for the Indians were Jackson Buchanan with a 78 and Gio Richardson and Daltry Tupper, who both carded a 79.
The fifth-ranked Norwalk golfers face Des Moines Roosevelt in a dual meet today at Willow Creek, starting at 2:00 p.m. Indianola’s next meet is Monday at Ames.
