The Indianola School Board gave direction to district staff to explore the possibility of allowing district elementary school staff to allow their children to go to their school regardless of school boundaries. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News knowing this is a time of turmoil and a shortage of teachers, the district is looking into the possibility of allowing this to make things easier for teachers and staff.

“So I will work with our enrollment specialist and our IT department to see how many students are we talking about? Are our classrooms full? If they are, how do we make this happen, can this happen? So those are the things we are going to now discuss as our current enrollment is done and placements are done, to see if we can implement something different next fall related to all staff. So not just teachers, it’s RTA, custodial staff, our nutrition staff, that work in the elementary buildings during the day. Because that’s one of the benefits of being an employee of the school district is being in the same school as your kid, so can we make that happen.”
