The fall series of United Way of Jasper County’s “Voices of Inspiration” continues tonight with featured speaker Kent Stock. Stock is the former coach of the Norway Iowa baseball team and the inspiration for the movie “The Final Season”. Stock led the Norway baseball team to its 20th State Championship. It was his only season as the team’s coach, and the last season for the Norway baseball team before the school district merged with another. The event is free and open to the public. The program at the Newton DMACC Auditorium begins at 6:30 p.m., and doors open at 6 p.m. United Way of Jasper County Executive Director Jessica Lowe Vokes says the “Voices of Inspiration” series began in the spring of last year, and was so successful, a fall series was added.

The fall series began August 6th with Newton native and Emmy-award winning TV host Sarah Haines. United Way of Jasper County Board President Deb Pence says the speaker series is just another way the organization works to reach people, promote education, and have a positive impact in Jasper County.
