The Simpson women’s and men’s soccer teams dominated their competition Wednesday, the women winning 4-0 over Grinnell and the boys a 1-0 win over Cornell.
The Storm women earned goals from Macy Kuhns and Jordyn Foelske as they both scored off corner kicks, while Cassie Nash and Hailey Kowzan sealed the deal for the Storm (4-0-1) with goals in the final 15 minutes. Simpson’s defense did not surrender a shot to the Pioneers (2-2-1) as Meredith Downs and Braelyn Thomas combined for the fourth clean sheet of the season.
The Storm men were held scoreless until the 81st minute when Tim Sedlock found the back of the net with his first goal of the season. Simpson’s defense held strong once again, recording their third shutout of the season with the combined efforts of Mason Chaplin and Arya Nowroozi going for three saves and another clean sheet.
