The Marion County Democrats will hold their annual picnic and pie auction on Sunday. 

Attendees are encouraged to enjoy a meal with vegetarian options, hear from candidates in the Democratic party, and to bid on pies and other items to benefit the county party. Candidates that will be in attendance for the picnic and pie auction include Christina Bohannan, Spencer Waugh, and Kacie Nicholson. Special guests for the event will include author of “Deep Midwest: Politics and Culture” Bob Leonard, publisher, editor, and primary reporter for Bleeding Heartland Laura Belin, and Iowa House Representative Amy Nielsen. Those in attendance are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. 

Prior to the picnic and auction, Bohannan will hold a coffee and conversation event in the Graham Annex at Central College at 11:30 am.

The Marion County Democrats’ annual picnic and pie auction will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm on Sunday at Lake Red Rock’s North Overlook shelter.
