The #3 in Class 2A PCM Mustangs dominated #4 in Class 3A Nevada Friday night 30-7 in a dominating win to wrap up non-district play.
The Mustangs were firing on all cylinders on the offensive and defensive side of the football in the win against a Cubs team that beat them 27-7 last season. PCM Coach Greg Bonnett was happy with his team’s performance in the victory.
“We did what we wanted to do on defense, we were just very very physical on offense. We got after it and we got the win. It was a good win. The thing I take away the most is there are some things we need to work on there’s no doubt about it, but a lot of the stuff they threw at us was stuff we hadn’t really seen before. We halfway knew it might be coming, and we had seen these formations before, and the defense was just really really good about making the adjustments so I thought that was a really good thing.”
The Mustangs finish non-district play with a 3-0 record and will travel to Jesup next Friday to begin district play.
