The Pleasantville football team defeated the Lynnville-Sully Hawks on the road Friday night.
The Trojans picked up an impressive 34-24 win over the Hawks to improve to 2-1 on the season as they wrap up non-district play. Braylon Bingham continued to shine for Pleasantville throwing one touchdown pass and rushing for three. Logan Roff had a touchdown in the game and Head Coach Mack Jorth said his sophomore running back JJ Phillips gave the team a boost in the running game. Jorth was happy with his team’s effort in the win.
“We definitely had a lot of success moving the ball in the first half. We had three big touchdowns. Three of them rushing, but we moved the ball primarily by the pass. In the second half when we really needed to grind the clock and slow the game down, our running game really came along and took some big strides. Our offensive line opened up some holes. JJ Phillips ran the ball like a man possessed, and we were really able to grind that clock out and get a big score at the end of the game when we needed it. It was really a well balanced win.”
Pleasantville will host the 0-3 Pella Christian Eagles to open district play next Friday.
