An effort to support city-committed funds to renovate a historic landmark used for various purposes is opening up to the public this fall. On Saturday, the Friends of the Pella Community Center dedicated a mural from supporters to the facility and essentially launched a more direct ask to area residents to fuel their effort through additional private donations. A brief series of speeches was given by members of the Friends of the Pella Community Center, including board members and those from Crossroads of Pella and Union Street Players. So far, $1.3 million of the $3 million goal have been raised, with a December deadline for the Pella City Council as it relates to key decisions. The project is back on the Policy and Planning work session agenda for this Tuesday’s meeting. Find out how to donate here.
