Jasper County Executive Director Jessica Lowe Vokes encourages local residents in need to reach out for assistance early, before it’s too late. Lowe Vokes says she receives lots of calls where someone is going to get evicted or have a utility shut off within hours instead of days..
“If there is a need, I encourage people to call me at 641-792-1684. I can’t do direct service but I can refer you to a program. Another great resource is 2-1-1. It’s a United Way manned phone number 24/7, and they can help refer you to program’s too.”
Lowe Vokes says the United Way of Jasper County typically serves 15,000 Jasper County residents each year. She notes the available programs cover a wide range of needs.
