The 2025 Tulip Queen and Royal Court nomination process begins this week. Carol Williamson and Jen Van Gorp with the Tulip Time Steering Committee say residents can choose high school seniors living in the Pella Community School District borders for the chance to be the five ambassadors promoting the 90th Tulip Time celebration next spring. Nominations will begin this Wednesday and continue until Tuesday, October 1st. Anyone can make a nomination, including potential candidates themselves.

Those eligible:
– Turn 17 by May 1st, 2025, and are high school seniors
– Live with a parent/guardian in the borders of the Pella Schools (can attend Pella, Pella Christian, or homeschool)
– Be unmarried

From there, Williamson says the girls nominated have to accept and commit to being part of the process, and the list of nominees will be voted on from October 15th through the 22nd. The 12 Tulip Queen finalists will be announced on 92.1 KRLS by the end of October, which will lead up to the annual Queen’s Announcement Party at Pella High School on Saturday, November 16th at Pella Christian High School. Tickets will go on sale online in early November.
