Newton’s Boys and Girls Cross Country teams, Girls Swim Team, and Volleyball team have meets and matches this evening. Both Cardinal Cross Country teams, featuring both Varsity and Junior Varsity, will be running at the Oskaloosa Cross Country meet at Edmundson Park. The Varsity meet at 4:45 p.m. is expected to have runners from 12 other schools including PCM and Knoxville. 

The 6-1 Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella Aquagirls host 2-2 Oskaloosa at the Newton YMCA. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m.. The Aquagirls suffered their first loss in Ankeny this past Thursday, losing to Ankeny 102 to 81.  

Newton’s Volleyball team will try to end a four match losing streak at #9 Norwalk.. The match starts at 7:30 p.m.. Since their last win against Twin Cedars on August 29th, the Cardinals have lost to Dallas Center-Grimes, Grand View Christian, North Polk, and Pella Christian.
