A showdown for first place in the South Central Conference tonight as the class 4A #11 Knoxville Volleyball Squad hosts class 2A #2 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a ranked matchup. The Panthers and Rockets have won their first two conference matches. Knoxville has been a more balanced team this season. While Hannah Dunkin has led in kills with 68 this season, four other players have at least 36 this season. The winner of tonight’s match is in the driver’s season for the South Central Conference title. Meanwhile, in Oskaloosa, the Knoxville Cross Country Squads are running. The class 3A #18 Knoxville boys will face a field that includes three other conference teams, plus Pella Christian, Newton and PCM among others. Isaac Rankin continues his torrid start to the season winning three races in as many starts and establishing a personal record in the last meet at Grinnell. The girls have dealt with injury the last weeks and have been unable to put a full team together. Nicole Schultz continues to be the lead runner in most events. The starter’s pistol is fired at 4:45 at the Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa.
