The Norwalk and Indianola boys golf teams both competed at Monday’s Turk Bowman Invite at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames. Norwalk placed seventh out of 18 teams with a score of 306 and Indianola finished 11th with a 322.

Warrior senior Grady Sigrist placed 12th individually with a 1-over-par round of 73 and senior Mason Johnson took 15th after shooting a 75. Norwalk’s Tillman Papcun and Ian Lux both added rounds of 79.

The Indians also placed two golfers in the top 20. Tyler Santi matched Sigrist by carding a 73 and Jackson Buchanan shot a 75.

West Des Moines Valley won the meet with an impressive score of 279, defeating second-place Johnston by 11 strokes. Braeden Nelson led the Tigers with a medalist round of 66.

Norwalk and Indianola will both travel to Marshalltown on Thursday, competing in the Joe August Invite at Elmwood Country Club. Tee time is set for 10:00 a.m.
