A new Knoxville Kwik Star convenience store is expected to break ground in 2025.

At Monday’s Knoxville City Council meeting, the council approved the site plan for Kwik Star, which includes the retail store, 20 spots for fueling, and a car wash. The land in which it will be built on is currently owned by the Knoxville Community School District and a private property owner, but the school district and Kwik Star are expected to close on the property at the end of the month. Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery says this will be a great addition to Knoxville.

“We’re looking forward to them moving forward with their project. It will be a big change on that corner that we’re excited to see. It’ll be a large convenience store with also a car wash attached to it. As long as they move forward with their due diligence period as planned they are hoping to get started with construction in 2025. I have been told probably around summer time.”
