A busy week continues tonight for the sports teams on Eagle Lane, as the ranked Pella Christian cross country and volleyball teams are set to be in action for the second time.
The Class 2A #11 ranked Eagle boys and #13 ranked girls cross country teams will run at Lynnville-Sully this afternoon, after competing at Ballard’s Mike Carr Invitational on Monday. The Pella Christian boys secured a third place finish in Class B at Monday’s meet, while the girls squad squad claimed fourth place. The Eagles will compete against just one ranked team in each field, with the boys race featuring Class 1A #16 Lynnville-Sully and the girls race featuring Class 1A #7 English Valleys.
While cross country is at Lynnville-Sully, the Class 2A #11 Pella Christian volleyball team will compete at the five-team Des Moines Christian Invite in Urbandale. The Eagles will open the tournament against Class 4A #11 Knoxville, then get a rematch with 4A #4 Pella after Tuesday night’s loss to the Dutch. Pella Christian’s will then square off with Southeast Warren, before wrapping up the tournament against the hosts, Des Moines Christian.
The cross country meet at Lynnville’s Diamond Trail Golf Course and the volleyball invite at Des Moines Christian High School are scheduled to start at 4:30 pm.
