It was another successful night on the scoreboard for the 5th ranked team in Class 4A volleyball as the Dutch swept up the Des Moines Christian invitational Thursday. Pella defeated the hosting Lions 2-0 (21-15, 21-17), #14 in 4A Knoxville 2-0 (21-19, 21-16), #11 in 2A Pella Christian 2-0 (21-19, 21-16), and Southeast Warren 2-0 (21-14, 21-16). Katie Scheckel finished with 23 kills across four matches, Brooke Schulte racked up 20, and Emma Eekhoff tallied 18 successful attacks. Pella surges to 21-4 overall — already matching their entire win total in 2023, and the green and white return to action in short order Saturday at the Ballard tournament. The field includes recently ranked Johnston (now outside of the latest poll), and is otherwise the first tournament the Dutch will compete in without another ranked foe.
