While some communities received a needed boost of moisture late Thursday with strong thunderstorms, widespread rainfall this weekend will bring with it cooler air and more fall-like conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, most communities could receive between 1/2″ to an inch of precipitation by Monday morning, with many locations potentially getting closer to two inches, depending on the track of the low pressure system. More scattered rainfall is possible on Saturday, and the best chance for widespread soggy conditions is trending toward late Saturday through Sunday afternoon, with lighter precipitation possible into Monday morning.

This comes after all of the state was rated as abnormally dry in the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report.

Daytime highs will remain warmer than normal through Saturday, before temperatures in the 60s become more frequent through the middle of next week.
