Central College’s Nicole Sinclair was named the American Rivers Conference Defender of the Week in women’s soccer on Monday.

Sinclair played 229 of 270 minutes in the back line for the Dutch during a 3-0 week. She helped the Dutch post their fifth shutout of the season during Sunday’s 3-0 home victory over Illinois College in Pella. Sinclair and Central also defeated Westminster College (Mo.) 2-0 on Tuesday and Hamline University (Minn.) 3-0 on Saturday. Sinclair scored her first goal of the season in Sunday’s win, while also assisting on a goal against Westminster.

The Dutch wrap up non-conference play on the road Wednesday at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, before opening American Rivers Conference play at home against Simpson College on Saturday.
