Volleyball Hosts Clarke

The class 4A #14 Knoxville Volleyball Squad off a 1-3 day at Waukee will host Clarke tonight in the South Central Conference. The Panthers will try to keep pace with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont hoping the Rockets will stumble between now and the end of the season. Regardless whether that happens or not, Panthers Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports there is still a lot to play for and loves playing in front of the home crowd.

Keitges: “We love playing Tuesday nights in front of our home crowd and love playing the best three out of five to 25. Those Saturday sets to 21 go by pretty quick and there’s not a lot of room for error.”

Clarke is 4-10 on the season and 0-2 in the conference losing to Cardinal and Albia. First serve is set for 7:15.

Cross Country Heads To Newton Today

The class 3A 18th ranked Knoxville Boys Cross Country Squad will head to the Newton Invitational tonight. The Panthers have finished either 1st or 2nd place in the team standings while Isaac Rankin has moved up one spot to 12th in the latest class 3A rankings according to the Iowa Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Rankin has won all four meets he has run in this season. The girls have struggled to put a full team together due to injury and illness. Tonight’s meet is set to begin at 5:00.
