The Newton Police Department is going to observe National Night out with a family oriented event at Aurora Park next Tuesday night, October 1st. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., members of the Newton Police Department, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, and the Newton Fire Department will be introducing themselves and sharing information about safety awareness and measures. The Iowa League of Heroes is also scheduled to visit the park.  There will also be inflatables, games, cotton candy, popcorn, free ice cream, and a food truck on-site.
