The community was invited to learn more about supporting a proposed indoor recreation facility in the City of Pella. An information session was held this Wednesday in the newly renovated Bos Landen Conference Center. City staff and leaders were on hand to answer questions and showcase the potential building layout. There were also details about how to financially support the effort. Mayor Don DeWaard says they are inviting the community to donate this fall or make pledges over the next five years to support the effort. Currently, the fundraising committee is approximately $3 million short of their goal, with a deadline coming before the December 3rd Pella City Council meeting as it relates to voting to allow city staff to pursue bids for possible spring construction.
