Newton’s Aurora Park will be the site of a family friendly get to know first responders event this coming Tuesday, October 1st. The Newton Police Department will be holding their annual National Night Out observance. Newton Police Captain Chris Wing says there will be plenty of food and activities.

“We are going to have some food trucks. Culver’s has donated a bunch of ice cream. We will have a bounce house with a slide, some yard games like a giant Jenga and cornhole. Should have something for everybody.”

The National Night out events will occur from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this coming Tuesday. Members of the Newton Police Department, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, and the Newton Fire Department will be introducing themselves and sharing information about safety awareness and measures. The Iowa League of Heroes are also scheduled to visit Aurora Park during the event.
