
Norwalk finished with two wins and two losses on Saturday at the Nevada Volleyball Tournament. The Class 4A 8th-ranked Warriors went 2-1 in pool play, defeating West Marshall 21-8, 21-13 and Carroll 21-18, 21-18 before losing to Class 2A No. 14 Wapsie Valley 21-23, 13-21. Norwalk faced Nevada in the semifinals of the Gold Bracket and lost in straight sets, 17-21, 21-23.
Freshman Elle Hatlevig led the Warriors with 33 total kills on the day while adding 18 digs. Ava Carlson tallied 17 kills, followed by Jacelyn Crane with 14 and Jillian Hammond 10. Dakota Poen was the team’s dig leader with 28. Hadley Michael had 19 digs, followed by Reese Heim with 13 and Addie Fisher 12.
The Warriors’ overall record is now 16-11. They will return to Little Hawkeye Conference play on Tuesday night at Pella Christian.
