The Pella City Council has scheduled a public hearing Tuesday to consider phase three improvements to Kiwanis Park. The resolution includes installation of an exit ramp on existing play equipment, shade structures and additional play features for the age 2 to 5 area, and a buddy bench. Snyder & Associates estimated the cost to be $268,000 — the City of Pella has indicated funding up to $150,000 of this phase with the Wonder Spelen non-profit organization funding the rest. Construction on some of the features will begin in October and work is scheduled to finish by June 30th, 2025. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6:00 Tuesday evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
