The Simpson football team got off to a fast start and didn’t look back as they dominated Loras 66-14 at Buxton Stadium Saturday afternoon as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The Storm found a touchdown just over three minutes into the game as quarterback J Jensen found Cole Staska for a score, then a high snap on a punt resulted in a safety for Simpson to lead 9-0. Jensen then found Noah Cracraft after a shanked Loras punt to build the lead to 15-0 after the first. After a blocked punt, Simpson recovered the ball at the four and gave the ball to senior captain center Joe Bream for the 1-yard rushing TD, then scored on a pick-six interception just 1:37 later as the ballooned the lead to 29-0. Aiden Lanier kicked a 40-yard field goal, and Cracraft caught his second touchdown pass, followed by a Jay Romelus touchdown reception in the final minutes of the second quarter for the Storm to lead 45-0 at the break.

The teams traded scores in the second half, with Tristan Bushey catching a touchdown and Demarico Young rushing for two scores, including one from 60 yards out.
Simpson head coach Reed Hoskins said after the game this was the most complete team win he has seen as Simpson coach, as all facets of the game with offense, defense, and special teams playing well and dominating for the win.

Jensen threw for 343 yards and five touchdowns, while Cracraft had 178 yards and two scores. Simpson improves to 2-2 on the season, and will travel to rival Central next Saturday.
