Jasper County Elderly Nutrition Program Director Kelli Van Manen says switching Monroe’s congregate meal site from City Hall to the Gathering Place has worked out very well. The change was made last year.

“The Gathering Place opened in 2023. It was just a good move to go there. They do a lot of programming for all generations of age, but primarily focused on older adults. So we can have our meals there and partner with them on some other projects.”

The Gathering Place is one of three on-site Congregate meal locations for Jasper County Elderly Nutrition. The other locations are in Newton and Colfax.
