Those making their way through downtown Pella today may notice a new, colorful feature on the windows of storefronts. On Sunday, a group of local high school students partnered with the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation to paint a pink ribbon across several local businesses in the Central Business District for the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month that starts on Tuesday. Kayle Huffaker was among those working on windows, and says she’s helping, in part, because her mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer herself. Huffaker says they are aiming to raise awareness all month to support local women who have also suffered from the disease.
