High School Swimmers from Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella, Perry, and Oskaloosa will participate in a triangular at the Newton YMCA this evening. The Newton Colfax-Mingo Pella Aquagirls are hosting the 5:30 p.m. meet. The Aquagirls are coming off a 5th place finish this past Saturday at the Tiger Tankers Invitational at Valley High School In West Des Moines. Junior Harper Barton led the team by placing 2nd in the 100 breaststroke and 3rd in the 100 freestyle. 

The Cardinals Volleyball Team welcomes 6th-ranked in Class 5A Indianola to Newton High School’s upper gym at 7:15 this evening. The Cardinals are currently on a three match losing streak and are 6-9 overall. Indianola and Pella currently lead the Little Hawkeye Conference and are undefeated against league opponents. The Indians overall record is 20-3.
