The Pride of Indianola Marching Band placed 2nd at the North Central Iowa Marching Band Invitational at Fort Dodge on Saturday, their second performance of the day.

The band placed 2nd in class 4A, just .09 points from a first place finish, just hours after marching in the Log Cabin Days Parade earlier Saturday. The theme this year for the marching band is “Welcome to the Afterlife” and Band Director Mike Richardson tells KNIA News the show is more dark and moody, but still features popular songs such as Thriller from Michael Jackson and Don’t Fear the Reaper from Blue Oyster Cult in addition to several classical songs, and the blending of the songs is great this year so there won’t be much of a, if at all, pause between songs.
