The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has released their first fall colors update of 2024. The weekly report will highlight the status of seven different regions throughout the state over the next several weeks as the transition of the leaves begins in full force. According to the first report, fall colors are slow to start, appearing in walnut, ash, and elm trees in central Iowa. There was no report in south central Iowa.
