With an improved season this fall, the Knoxville Boys Cross Country Squad is looking at a higher finish in the South Central Conference meet on October 15th. Chariton is the favorite, as the Chargers have been on a string of winning the conference and making state. However, the Panthers are looking to jump into the conference conversation and senior runner Ezra Schmidt tells KNIA/KRLS if things can come together on conference meet day, the Panthers may have a chance to win.

Schmidt: “We’ve put together a pretty solid season so far. Chariton is a really good team, and Albia has been running pretty well so far. If we can put together a great day we can sneak up and finish 2nd or win the thing.”

The Panthers have one more tune up before the conference next week at Centerville at Honey Creek Resort.
