
The Norwalk boys golfers placed second to Dallas Center-Grimes in Wednesday’s Little Hawkeye Conference Fall Classic at Willow Creek. DC-G recorded a winning team score of 291, followed by the Warriors at 296 and Indianola with a 312. Avery Van Zelderen of DC-G earned first-place medalist honors after shooting a round of 69.
Norwalk was paced by its three varsity seniors. Kaleb Foltz shot a 71 for third place while Grady Sigrist and Mason Johnson both shot 75, placing fourth and sixth, respectively. Junior Ian Lux also carded a 75.
Wednesday’s score marked Norwalk’s sixth sub-300 score of the season in 18-hole meets. The Class 4A eighth-ranked Warriors will now turn the page to postseason play and host a 14-team District Tournament on Monday, October 7, back at Willow Creek Golf Course in West Des Moines. The top three teams will advance to the state meet.
