The City of Indianola held an open house for the Water Resource Recovery Facility on Thursday, welcoming the public to view the state-of-the-art facility. Water Resource Recovery Superintendent Jared Keenan tells KNIA News the facility meets all of the Iowa DNR standards, and is able to handle the future growth of Indianola even through a rainy spring and summer like this year.

“We are the first in the state to have the peak-flow treatment, so not only can we bring in 6 mgd of flow every day, but we can have a peak flow of an additional 10 mgd a day, that’s millions of gallons a day. This past rainy season we exercised that quite a bit.”
